Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines what is and is not permitted when using Eivo’s services.

It exists to protect our clients, our infrastructure and the wider internet.

By using Eivo’s services, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Purpose of This Policy

Eivo provides managed website hosting, email services, and related infrastructure.
To keep services reliable and secure for everyone, certain activities are not permitted.

This policy is not designed to limit legitimate business use — only to prevent misuse, abuse, or illegal activity.

2. Illegal or Harmful Content

You may not use Eivo’s services to host, distribute, or link to content that is illegal under the laws of England and Wales, including but not limited to:

  • Malware, viruses, or malicious code

  • Phishing or fraud-related content

  • Copyright-infringing material

  • Content promoting violence, abuse, or hate

  • Content involving exploitation or harassment

We do not actively monitor content, but we will act if violations are reported or discovered.

3. Email & Messaging Abuse

To protect email deliverability and IP reputation, the following are not permitted:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)

  • Using purchased or scraped mailing lists

  • Running open relays or mass-mailing scripts

  • Activity that results in blacklisting of Eivo infrastructure

Clients are responsible for ensuring their email practices comply with applicable laws and best practices.

4. Server & Resource Abuse

Our hosting services are designed for normal website operation.

The following activities are not allowed:

  • Excessive or abusive use of CPU, memory, or disk resources

  • Cryptocurrency mining

  • Automated attacks, scanning, or brute-force attempts

  • Activities that degrade service for other clients

If a site places unreasonable strain on shared resources, we may request changes or recommend an upgrade.

5. Security Responsibilities

Clients are expected to maintain reasonable security standards for their websites.

This includes:

  • Keeping login credentials secure

  • Promptly addressing known vulnerabilities

  • Not intentionally bypassing security controls

If a website becomes compromised and poses a risk, we may temporarily suspend access to protect the platform.

6. Third-Party Software & Licences

Any third-party tools, plugins, themes, or licences provided as part of Eivo’s services:

  • Remain the property of Eivo or the original licensor

  • Are not transferable

  • May be removed if services end or if misuse is detected

Clients may supply or purchase their own licences independently.

7. Enforcement & Action

If this policy is violated, Eivo may take action including:

  • Requesting corrective action

  • Temporarily suspending services

  • Removing harmful content

  • Terminating services in serious cases

Where possible, we aim to resolve issues cooperatively.
Immediate action may be taken where there is risk to infrastructure, legality, or other clients.

8. Reporting Abuse

If you believe a website hosted by Eivo violates this policy, please contact us with relevant details so we can investigate.

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time.
